Pyrokinesis

Definition:
The mental manipulation of force due to increase temperatures. Pyrokinetic's use frequencies and electrostatics to create temperature increases in gases, liquids and solids. It is the acceleration of molecules that produces this heating transition. Pyrokinetic's can reach melting points and boiling points (for instance the melting point of the element mercury is 37.89 °F) and (The boiling point of water is 212 °F). Pyrokinetic's can heat solids, liquids and gases such as oxygen, hydrogen, nitrogen, water, mercury, etc. Once an object has met its melting point successfully the substance will then transition into a liquid. Once a liquid reaches its boiling point it will transition into a gas. Fire is a form of combustion and to produce fire a Pyrokinetic will need both fuel and oxygen of course. Also, this will require very high temperatures to actually spark the flame via electrical currents and surges. A flame is a self-sustaining oxidizing chemical reaction producing energy and ionized gas (plasma). Rapid combustion is a form of combustion in which large amounts of heat and light energy are released. Slow combustion is a form of combustion which takes place at low temperatures. In complete combustion, the reactant will burn in oxygen, producing a limited amount of products. When a hydrocarbon burns in oxygen, the reaction will only yield carbon dioxide and water. When elements such as carbon, nitrogen, sulfur, and iron are burned, they will yield the most common oxides. In incomplete combustion, where sufficient oxygen for complete combustion is lacking, the reactant will burn in oxygen, but will produce numerous products. It has been shown explicitly that melting begins at defects within the crystalline structure of solid matter, beginning along the cracks, grain boundaries and dislocations that are present in the otherwise orderly array of atoms. Misconceptions and Myth:
Mistakes for Pyrokinesis are related to fueling fire. If an individual can get close to a fire and increase its size then they are an Aerokinetic using oxygen to feed the fire. Another mistake is an Electrokinetic using electrical currents or surges (flares) to increase the potency of the fire.
